Bellingen Golf Club 8th January 2018
Wednesday 3rd - the first Chook Run of the year was won by Ross Williams with 24 points - five points clear of the field! In the afternoon the Short Course tempted more players out and our new member Peter Szaif was triumphant with 23.1 points over Ian Ridgewell’s 24.4. Peter also won the first target hole, the second going to Rowan Hickson. Welcome on board Peter!
Thursday 4th - the Seniors’ 12 Hole Stableford, and this week’s birthday boy Tony Brown added to his celebrations by winning with 26 points over R/U Rowan Hickson on 24. Many Happy Returns Tony, and thanks for all your help at the club over the years. Balls went to 23 points and included Mike Edsall, Ross Williams, Col Hoskins and Les Howes. NTPs went to Mike Edsall (2) and Col Hoskins.
The Thursday morning Medley will start again on 11th, tee off at 7.30am to avoid the heat.
Saturday 6th - a single Stableford sponsored by Robbie and Nev Farrar welcomed in the New Year. Numbers were a little depleted because the Wanderers were on their annual jolly, but 33 players sweated it out in hot conditions. A Grade winner was Craig Blyth on 37, narrowly beating R/U Chris Smith on 36. B Grade was smashed by Mike Edsall’s 44 points over Nev Farrar’s 39. The NTPs were a sorry affair this week - two went to our visitors from Mt Coolum, Lenette and D Paul, and the only local member to bag one was Ruth Hall - the rest were unclaimed! Balls went to 36 and included Peter Lawrance, Rolf Homey, Stan McCabe and Kiwi. Next week is the Monthly Medal, Medal of Medals and the Mug of Mugs sponsored by the Wanderers.
