Wednesday 15th - eleven players for this week’s Chook Run and only a C/B could separate the winner Ted Callender from R/U Rowan Hickson, both with 21 points.  The NTP was claimed by Warren King.
Thursday 16th - eleven more players tackled the Medley 18 hole Stableford in glorious conditions, with a lot of run on the course.  Maggie Oliver was top of the pops with an equally glorious 38 points and one NTP over R/U Ruth Hall’s 36 on a C/B, also with an NTP.
Later on Thursday the Seniors took to the fairways.  John Lavis was triumphant over Bruce Tait with 27 on a C/B.  Balls went to Pat Gray and Ross Williams and the NTPs were bagged by Bruce Tait and Tony Brown (2).
Saturday 18th - 44 starters for Round 1 of the Men’s Club Championships sponsored very kindly by Treasury Wines and there were some great scores.  A Grade daily nett winner with 69 on a C/B was Chris Smith over R/U Trevor Wilson-Brown.  B Grade nett winner was Brian Woollard with 65 over Bob Stockton with 69.  In C Grade new member Darcy McGlashan had a maiden win with nett 65 over Les Howes’ 71.  Congratulations and welcome Darcy!  NTPs went to Glenn Jones, Dave Mayo, Ruth Hall, Chris Smith, Craig McMahon and Bill Woodham.  You had to be on your handicap to win a ball; those beating or equalling 70 included Glenn Jones, Russ Williams, Mike Raymond, Tony Brown and Shane Heffernan. Keep an eye on the club board for championship progress, Round 2 next week!
Captain’s Log - the Greens committee meetings are bearing fruit already, thanks to all who attend and pitch in.  We will be having another working bee on Sunday 26th August - all welcome to do some tidying and gardening work from 9am.  We are also getting together some promotional ideas for our Gala Day, Sunday 16th September, watch this space for details.
