Wednesday 6th - Ross Williams triumphed in the Chook Run this week with 21 points over R/U Bruce Mitchell on 19. No NTPs were returned. Later, 22 players vied for the Short Course Challenge, with Paul Carter winning a narrow victory with nett 24.5 strokes over B Duffy’s 24.6. The Target holes went to Jayden Taylor and Ian Ridgewell.
Thursday 7th - a field of 14 players for the last 9 Hole Medley comp of the year and the win was claimed by Marg Girdwood on 21 points (with a wipe!) over Maggie Oliver on 20. NTPs were bagged by Nev Farrar and Linda Hillman. The Christmas lunch and prizegiving followed, with Maggie celebrated as having scored the most wins in 2017. Roll on next year! Later in the day the Seniors took to the Course, where Toby Cuthel held his nerve to win with 27 points over Rowan Hickson’s 25. NTPs went to John Lavis, Stan McCabe and Rowan Hickson.
Saturday 9th - a sticky and stormy day saw 36 players for the Monthly Medal sponsored by Yamaha. A Grade winner was Col Osland with a nett 68 over R/U John Lavis on 69. Jayden Taylor took the gross with 72. B Grade was close, with Merv Brownlee pipping Richard Raward to the win with 68 on a C/ B. Merv also took B Grade gross with 89 and was the Monthly Mug winner for his efforts. C Grade nett and gross went to Ross Williams 100/75 over Rolf Homey on 76 on a C/B. NTPs were claimed by Merv, Mick Raymond (2), JT, M Gray and Craig Blyth. Balls went to 71 and included Paul Lazarus, Tom Munnelly, JT, Mick Raymond and Russ Williams. Next week it’s the re-run of the Men’s Foursomes so let’s hope for better weather this time!
